The Mission
Our goal was to create an easy point of entry for people who don’t know KnowledgeBase product. We wanted to create a product video that will be easily shareable content that will help us build acquisition and win more customers.
The Outcome
We created a brand new explainer video that highlights our value proposition compellingly and efficiently.
The Impact
The video embedded in the hero section acquired new users and improved conversion on the main page.

Preproduction
Our process started with the draft script I used to prepare the storyboard’s first rough version. In the meantime, I asked for access to the KnowledgeBase license to check how things behave in the app. When I received the final script, I created an updated storyboard version. Then, the graphic designer started creating the final look frames. After a few revisions and iterations on Design Critique sessions, we agreed on the visual look of the animation.
Not everything went as we planned. We didn’t receive Voice-Over on time. But I started transferring and importing files from Figma to After Effects. So that saved us some time. Unfortunately, that was not the end of our problems.

Passive Aggression
Sometimes things happen. You don’t know how, you don’t know why, but you have to handle them. During work on the script, I somehow missed one sentence. I didn’t include it in the rough storyboard for the graphic designer. I only realized when we received a recorded Voice-Over. Fortunately, I found the solution quickly. Yes. The yellow face with cold, dead eyes.

Emotions
I wanted to bring energy and emotion to this animation. While designing avatars, our goal was to create immersive and inclusive experiences. That’s why we focused on videos instead of static images.

Loader
The new explainer video puts content at the center and focuses on the value proposition. However, that doesn’t mean it can’t be a visual delight. The purpose of shots like loading the page is to bring energy and excites a viewer while maintaining an audience retention rate.
Augmentet Reality
Motion design offers phenomenal possibilities. You are limited only by your imagination. When we were preparing a view of the sample knowledge base page, we wanted to create an extended experience. In real life, pages are closed by the borders of web browsers. In our video, the hero image expands the environment and shapes a new reality. The depth we created helps to focus on the point of interest.

Drag and Drop
I was excited I could bring life to the newest feature in the software, which is drag and drop in the main view. We wanted to show how KnowledeBase is simple to use and how fast you can add new articles thanks to its minimalistic design. That’s why I decided to use close-up shots and put the application in a 3d environment.

Break communication barriers
I wanted to celebrate the company’s mission to break communication barriers, so I insisted on including the claim in the script. Inspired by this slogan, I focused on possible connections through easy, convenient, and natural communication. At a key scene moment, a data network that helps exchange information transforms into a KnowledgeBase logo. Simple and elegant.
I’m proud of what we’ve built, and I’m excited that I helped to improve the future of customer communication.
